My journey with Verify Smart Corp began as an investor. Before assuming any formal role, I committed my own capital because I believed Verify Smart as the license owners of the patent for MFA technology they held.
Later, I was approached by Richard J. Halden and introduced to his strategic direction. That alignment of passion, leadership and experience mattered to me deeply.
Over the course of more than four decades in the nuclear power industry and nuclear weapons complex, I have worked across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia in high-stakes environments where precision, accountability, and disciplined execution are non-negotiable. I was deployed as part of the U.S. Response Team to Fukushima Daiichi following the 2011 disaster, and participated in the first joint U.S./Japanese engineering walkthroughs of the damaged reactors. Experiences like that shape how one evaluates risk, leadership, and integrity.
When I assess leadership, I look for clarity under pressure, long-range thinking, and the ability to adapt without compromising principle. Ric demonstrates those traits. He approaches Verify Smart Corp not as a passive steward, but as an active architect — repositioning the Company’s intellectual property foundation while building strategic alliances that broaden its opportunity set.
